What are Kaleidoscope Awards
Designed to recognize the marketing, programming and overall event, the Southeast Festivals and Events Association Kaleidoscope Awards acknowledge the highest level of achievement in the festival and event industry throughout the southeast United States. The awards presentation will take place at the 2020 SFEA Annual Conference February 25, 2020 in Muscle Shoals, AL.
Who is Eligible?
All festivals or events are eligible with the following stipulations.The event must be located within the southeast U.S.: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. The nominated event must have occurred in the calendar year 2019. You do not have to be a member of SFEA to submit.
Rules and Requirements
All submissions must be filled out completely. Each category is listed here separately on the website. Failure to complete each section required may result in your event not being judged. After you have submitted the required information on each specific category page, fill out ONE payment submission form for all of your entries. A custom invoice will be created for you and emailed to the address listed on the form. You may pay by credit card or check. If your organization requires a purchase order number for the payment, please be sure to list it on the form. Submissions must be received by midnight January 13, 2020. No exceptions.

How to Enter

- Fill out all the required information on each page/category that you wish to enter
- Once every category is submitted, fill out and submit the payment submission form
- Don’t miss the deadline
How Will I know if I Won an Award?
Winners will be notified by email that they have won an award, but not what they have won.
Do I Have to be Present to Win?
If you are a winner in the following categories, then you MUST be present to achieve the award:
Best Festival or Event With a Budget Under $75,000
Best Festival or Event With a Budget Over $75,000
Event Director of the Year
How Many Awards Are Given?
There are three awards given in each category: Gold, Silver and Bronze. Judges have the right to award a tie between places.
Who Are the Judges?
All entries are judged by a panel of judges who are recognized in the areas of event planning, marketing, tourism, and public relations. Neither SFEA staff, board members or members are allowed on the judging panel. Judges represent from all parts of the southeast and other regions to remain unbiased.
How Are the Categories Judged?
Within the form, various sections have been assigned percentages. This will assist you with your answers and how much it is weighted in the eyes of the judges. The judges will be given a grading rubric for each category, so please be clear and accurate in your descriptions within the submission.
